About Us

Joel Magaziner, founder and CEO of TextZapper is a full-time parent of teenage children. Throughout his career, Joel has owned and operated several successful businesses in various industries.

Magaziner began his first working career in the automobile industry while attending Penn State University as a full-time undergraduate student. Soon thereafter, he acquired Ford, General Motors and Chrysler dealerships in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

After a long and fruitful career in the retail auto industry, Magaziner sold to one of the largest privately held groups in the country, enabling him to spend more time with his family. As his children reached their teenage driving years, Magaziner became very much aware of the many risks associated with teen driving. It was at this time he became a passionate champion of "the cause," to reduce the risks of teen driving.

Joel has served on numerous boards and has been an executive member of several business and trade associations. To his credit, Magaziner has also served on the Board of Directors of the Rowan Foundation at Rowan University and as an active board member of the United Way. Magaziner has received special recognition as the recipient of the New Jersey Business Council's South Jersey Business Person of the Year Award and was also honored with the prestigious Spirit of the United Way Award. Mr. Magaziner is currently involved with the International Leukemia Organization, is a member of the Penn State Alumni Association and is a proud member of the Parent Teacher Association.
